Vangiliya Pereira, also known as Vânya Pereira, has been the Deputy General Director for the Technical and Scientific field of the Angolan Management Office for the National Space Program (GGPEN) since 2018. She has been working in the Ministry of Telecommunications Information Technology and Social Media for over 15 years, where she started as a consultant of the Vice Minister for Telecommunications on
topics related to Digital TV and the Angosat project. Vangiliya holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bradford in England, UK, and a Master ́s degree in Mobile and Satellite Communications from the University of Glamorgan in Wales – UK. She has been specialized by the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos in the design, architecture, and operation principles of satellites and is certified as a satellite operator, having previously worked as a Shift Flight Director in the Angolan Satellite Mission Control Centre (MCC). Vangiliya is also certified by UNISEC in the design and Assembly of small satellites (HeptaSats) and has contributed to the development of the Angolan Space Program, including the training and capacity building of more than 60 specialists at GGPEN.
