Prof Joseph Armathe Amougou is the Director-General of the Cameroon National Observatory on Climate Change (NOCC). He is a Climatologist and a University Professor at the University of Yaounde 1. He is a researcher and has authored many articles and PhD theses on climate change-related issues. From 2003 to 2015, he acted as the UNFCCC Focal Point, Negotiator and Spokesperson for the Congo Basin Region till the Paris Agreement in 2015.
He has been working hard since April 2021 to ensure the creation of the Cameroon National Space Agency. He is a key member and resource person for the Cameroon Space Program Committee. NOCC, through its various departments, including Geomatics, Climate and Carbon Monitoring, and Earth Observation and Climatological Data.
