Marie Makuate is a researcher and PhD candidate in Geomatics. Her work focuses on using Computer Science in Geographic Information Science for environmental management. She is the Founder of Kids and Girls in Geospatial, whose mission is to promote the Geospatial domain through kids and girls worldwide. She is passionate about climate change, disaster management, spatial analysis and geo-artificial intelligence. She can integrate hands-on skills and knowledge in solving environmental issues using remote sensing and GIS. As an advocate of sustainable development, she dreams of inspiring the young generation in geospatial sciences and technologies for capacity building and development in the developing world.
