Luciano Lupedia is the head of the Space Application Development Department at the Angolan Space Program Management Office (GGPEN). He is part of the team responsible for developing Earth Observation satellite imagery applications for different sectors of the Angolan Economy. These applications include Tech-Ecologia for oil spill detection, Tech-Minas for monitoring mining activities, Tech-Agro for crop monitoring and yield estimation, and Tech-Gest for monitoring assets and infrastructure.
He holds an MSc in Telecommunications, Networks, and Multimedia (TRM) from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), Algeria. He has completed also various training programs in satellite design, payload design, earth observation satellites, image processing, and communications satellite operation. These programs were conducted by Airbus Defense and Space, Thales Alenia Space, and he has received certification from the Russian Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS) for operating communications satellites. Additionally, Luciano serves as the Angolan national point of contact for the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC).
