Mr Fernand Bale is a senior geospatial specialist with over 20 years of experience. In the last ten years, he has worked alongside governments, political leaders and decision-makers to exploit geospatial technology and address sustainable development challenges in developing African countries.
Currently, Mr Bale is the Director of the Côte d’Ivoire Geographic and Digital Information Center (CIGN) at BNETD. He is also involved in various international organisations as the Co-chair of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), Co-chair of the United Nations Sub Committee on Geodesy, a Member of International GNSS Services (IGS) Governing Board, and a Member of the International Advisory Committee of the UN-Global Geodesy Center of Excellence (Bonn).
Mr Bale is an engineering graduate from ENSG-Paris and holds a Master’s degree in Spatial Data Analysis from Sorbonne University in 2002. In 2021, he achieved the Program for Management Development (PMD) at IESE Business School, Barcelona.
