Dr Zolana Joao is the Director-General of GGPEN, Angolan Space Management Office. He is an experienced manager with demonstrated results in the space and ICT industry and has contributed to building and designing space programmes and ICT policies. He has also contributed to programs and projects with various governments and national space agencies worldwide.
Dr Joao got his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2009. He has master’s degrees from the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa and École Supérieure d’Ingénieurs en Électrotechnique et Électronique in France, and a PhD in Engineering Management from George Washington University in 2021.
Furthermore, Dr Joao has carried out a lot of research on using high-resolution satellite imagery and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to manage large-scale projects. Dr Joao is a non-executive board member of the Angolan Institute of Communications.
