Dr El-Hadi Gashut holds a Master’s in Remote Sensing & GIS and a PhD in Space Management from the Sudan Academy of Sciences. He was a Former Director of the Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences from 1989 to 2011, Former Director of the Libyan Space Program Project from 2008-2011, the Secretary of the Association of Remote Sensing for Arab Countries between 2005-2012, and is currently the Director-General of the Regional Center for Remote Sensing for North African States.
Dr El-Hadi is a Geophysicist and scientific researcher in space technologies, remote sensing applications, and geographic information systems. He has participated in and managed many activities, events, and projects related to these fields at regional and international levels. He’s chaired the editing of publications and has published some scientific research papers on these disciplines. Through his work with Arab and African organisations, he has connections with many assignments and projects to build scientific cadres in remote sensing applications, geographic information systems, space technologies, and international federations and professional associations. He is a permanent observer member of Inter Islamic Network on Space Sciences and Technology (ISNET), UN-COPUOS.
