Dimane Mpoeleng holds a PhD in Computing Science from Newcastle University, UK, and earned a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Botswana. Dr Mpoeleng has held various positions at Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) since 2015, including ag. Director of Technology Transfer, and occasionally acting as the DVC for Research,
Development and Innovation. In November 2021, Dimane Mpoeleng became the BOTSAT Project Lead, ensuring that Botswana achieves a remarkable milestone: the successful launch of its inaugural satellite by June 2024.
He has extensive teaching experience in computer science courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to teaching, he is actively engaged in research, with a particular focus on diverse topics such as machine learning, distributed systems, and geospatial information systems. He has published numerous papers in reputable journals and conferences, showcasing his impactful research contributions.
