Ms Layachi holds an Engineering degree, a master’s degree and a Diploma of Advanced Studies specialising in automatic control and signal processing. She has more than 30 years of experience in Earth Observation and Geographic Information Systems. She has coordinated or participated in several national or international projects in the fields of space technologies applied to national and regional priority themes: EU APPUIT Program, GARNET E, GEONET CAB, GEOCRADLE, LDAS MOROCCO, GMES-AFRICA.
Currently the Head of the Training and Cooperation department at the CRTS, Ms. LAYACHI is a specialist in institutional capacity building relating to space technologies. She has set up and coordinated more than 300 training activities, workshops, seminars and national and international conferences related to Earth Observation for the benefit of a large community of national and regional users and researchers. Many of these activities were carried out in partnership with regional and international organisations and institutions: UNDP, FAO, UNESCO, GIZ, OADA, EURISY, UNOOSA, IAF, and IRD.
Ms. LAYACHI oversees international cooperation activities at CRTS: focal point with space agencies: CNES, ESA, NASA, UAE Space Agency, ISRO, NSSA Bahrain, and DLR. She represents CRTS in several regional and international organisations: UNOSSA, EURISY, GEO, COSPAR, and SCO. Several communications in world forums and high-level international conferences to credit his operational use of satellite products for national socio-economic development and capacity building in space technologies. She is also in charge of relations with universities and national and international research institutions to strengthen applied research in Morocco in Earth Observation and GIS teachers at the CRTS and several national universities.
