Mr Bakienon Louis is the Director of Operations of ASECNA, the Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar. He is a high-level expert in Air Traffic Management Operations. He graduated in 1989 with a master’s degree of Engineering in Civil Aviation Design and Operation from the School of African and Malagasy Meteorology and Civil Aviation (EAMAC) in Niamey, Niger. He also holds a master’s degree in Finance, Business and Administration from Paris Dauphine International University and has several postgraduate diplomas in GNSS, incident and accident investigation, and search and rescue.
Mr Bakienon started his aviation career in 1989 at the control tower of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso as chief air traffic control. He managed air traffic services within many states, including Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, and South Sudan. Mr Bakienon is currently the Director of the ANGA (SBAS) program in implementation within the ASECNA States.
