Hazuki Mori is serving as an Expert in the Space Applications Section of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in Vienna. Her main role at UNOOSA is coordinating and implementing the space technology capacity-building activities under the “Access to Space for All initiative,” among other various roles. Hazuki is also a member of the Committee for Liaison with International Organisations and Developing Nations (CLIODN) of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).
She worked at Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) from 2014-2020 and is currently seconded from JAXA to UNOOSA. She has worked in multiple positions during her time at JAXA, such as the legal and international relations administrator for the Space Transportation Directorate, industrial promotion administrator for the Business Development and Industrial Relations Department, organiser of the 2nd International Space Exploration Forum, Tokyo in 2018, and legal and international relations administrator at the Research and Development Directorate. In addition, she has coordinated various partnerships with international and domestic partners from the government, space agencies, industry, and academia.
Hazuki holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom and a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade Law from Waseda University, Japan. She is also an alum of the International Space University (ISU) and is a serving board member of the Japan Alumni Society of ISU.
