Dr Mobio Abaka Brice Hervé is a Senior Lecturer, Director of the Remote Sensing and GIS Laboratory (LaTSIG) of the Centre Universitaire de Recherche et d’Application en Télédétection (CURAT) of the Felix Houphouët-Boigny University of Cote d’Ivoire. He holds a PhD in Remote Sensing and GIS applied to Marine and Coastal Environments.
He has carried out research work of high scientific quality in the marine and coastal fields in Côte d’Ivoire and other renowned international structures such as the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research (CCAR) of the Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences of the University of Colorado, USA, the Marine Institute of Department of Oceanography of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and the Centre de Météorologie Spatiale (CMS) of Météo-France, France.
Dr Mobio successively led CURAT’s focal point on the Monitoring for Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) project, and he was the CURAT technical expert on the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security & Africa project, amongst others. He is the Côte d’Ivoire National coordinator of Phase 2 of GMES and Africa programme: Marine and Coastal Areas Management in North and West Africa (MarCNoWA).
