He is also the Senegalese program coordinator. The main areas of expertise of Dr. FAYE are Remote Sensing (optical and radar) and applications, and Geographical Information Systems and modelling.
Dr Faye has experience in multidisciplinary research by participating in international research consortium that allowed him to have much ability to work in teams. During his PhD studies, he stayed several times in ESYCOM laboratory of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée University (France). After obtaining his PhD, Dr Faye joined the Centre de Suivi Ecologique as post-doctorate research assistant to support the Development Research Program on remote sensing GIS and modeling.
Dr Faye was a research professor in remote sensing and photogrammetry at the Polytechnic School of Thiès (EPT) from October 2015 to May 2016. In addition, he has been the research professor and Director of the Laboratory of Remote Sensing (LTA) at the Institute of Earth Sciences (IST) at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar since Jun 2016. He led several research projects on the use of remote sensing for monitoring natural resources and the environment. Currently, he is the coordinator of the Senegalese space program.
