Dr Cui Yufu is a professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Chief Engineer and Project Manager at DFH Satellite Co., Ltd., China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation(CASC).
Engaging in the research and development of small satellites for many years, he led the development of many low-orbit satellites, including China’s first export optical remote sensing satellite-Venezuela Remote Sensing Satellite-1 (VRSS-1), VRSS-2, Pakistan’s Remote Sensing Satellite-1(PRSS-1), Ethiopia’s Remote Sensing Satellite-1(ETRSS-1) and other small satellites. He has developed and successfully launched 11 satellites for domestic and international customers. Currently, he is the Project Manager and Chief Engineer of the MisrSat-2 satellite.
Dr Yufu has won many national awards, including the 2nd National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, the 1st National Defense Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, Space Fund Award, and Space Contribution Award. He has published one book and more than 30 professional articles.
He is a member of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), the Committee on Satellite Commercial Applications (COSCA), an expert on the Earth Observation and Navigation Special Project for the China Ministry of Science and Technology, and an expert on Technology Trade Consultation for Ministry of Commerce. He is also an expert on Academic Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, National Graduate Education Evaluation and Monitoring for the Ministry of Education, Spacecraft Reliability and Safety Expert Group”, and a member of the Spacecraft Propulsion Technical Committee of the China Academy of Space Technology.
