Colonel Timothy Daniel Ray is the Africa and Americas Division Chief in Air Force International Affairs. Colonel Ray served at the 4th Satellite Operations, where he stood up the weapons & tactics section and was the Chief of Mobile Operations, leading a six-man team through the first successful Pacific deployment of a USD 16M satellite operations asset.
Col Ray was then a Milstar ops instructor and enabled the Standard Space Trainer, capturing Air Force Space Command Commander’s vision for the future of simulators. While at Vandenberg, Col Ray was hand-picked to augment Air Education and Training Command briefers because of his French fluency (3+) and briefed the French Ambassador to the United States in 2009.
He then studied Arabic and the Middle East as a Foreign Area Officer (FAO). Following training, he served in Oman managing a USD 3.2B Security Assistance portfolio with Omani armed services, followed by the Air Force Engine room where he helped produce the FY17 &18 POMs. Dan then moved to USAF International Affairs, where he was the Chief of the Saudi Arabia Branch, managing the USD 40B Saudi Portfolio. Afterwards, he became the Reserve Advisor to USAF International Affairs and the Reserve International Airmen/Foreign Area Officer Career Field Manager, and the Senior IMA overseeing fundamental changes in the Reserve enterprise leading to historically high support.
