Programmes Associate, Space in Africa

Ayooluwa Adetola is the Programmes Associate at Space in Africa. She has organised and managed various onsite and virtual events to provide business development opportunities for critical African space and satellite industry stakeholders. Including the NewSpace Africa Conference 2022, the Planet to Africa webinar and currently, the next edition of the NewSpace Africa Conference. In this capacity, she has connected private, public and international space actors to collaborate on various projects for socioeconomic development using space technologies.
 
In addition, Ayooluwa has published several articles on trends and events in the African space industry and participated in various consulting projects for indigenous and international space organisations, including the African Space Industry Annual Reports, Global Space Budget Report and the NewSpace Africa Industry Reports.

     This panel will discuss both theoretical and practical ways to attract young Africans to the industry. It will highlight the course of action to ensure funding, infrastructure, capacity building and incentives through networking programs, accelerators and incubators, and paid and unpaid internships, amongst others, to avoid brain drain and an underdeveloped space sector.
